52 Week Money Challenge

Happy New Year ! I hope everyone is doing well so far as the new year begins.
Guess what ?! I've decided to do the 52 Week Money Challenge ! This challenge is a way to help you save money throughout the year to buy something you really want at the end of the challenge or if you want to only save it then you can do that to. I want to try new things in this new year so this is my first new challenge I've decided to do. Want to join me ? Here are more details of this challenge :

There are 52 weeks in one year, that is the reason behind the name of the challenge. So each week you will deposit the number of the week into your savings account, jar, piggy bank or where ever you decide to save the money. For example this is the first week of the new year, so you will deposit $1.00 into your savings. In week two you will depoist $2.00, Week three will be $3, then Week four will be $4.00 and so on. The largest amount you will deposit will be $52 which will be the last week of this challenge. You can also change this challenge to your liking by starting backwards and depositing $52  then $51 then $50 and so on. Another way to do the challenge is to randomly choose whatever amount from the chart that you want to deposit for that week (Example : $1 for the 1st week, $5 for the 2nd week, $20 for the 3rd week, $50 for the 4th week and so on.) Let the challenge work how it best fits you. At the end of the challenge you should have $1,378 saved. Wouldn't that be awesome ?! If you cannot save weekly then you can do it bi-weekly or monthly. Adjust the challenge to work best for you.

What will I use the money for ? I will use the money to buy my MacBook Pro or iMac that I've always wanted. I currently have a Macbook and want to upgrade cause my Macbook is giving me several issues. I can't use it without it being on a charger and a laptop fan has to be underneath it or it will get overheated and shut off. Also, it doesn't start up properly (I have to go into safe mode and enter a code to get it to move past the start up screen and onto the home screen.) My computer is really important to me as I'm using it to type this right now. I also thought of using it to get a Canon T3i, T4i or T5i. I'm not 100% sure what I will spend it on but I will be spending it on an electronic item that I really want. If I can stretch the money I just might end up with more than one item.

I hope you will join me ! There are two charts below that you can print either one and use a checklist. You can put a check next to each week/amount once it's complete.

Jamaican Passport Renewal

So you have a Jamaican Passport but it's time to renew it but you don't know how to ? Well I will provide all the steps and information on how to renew your Jamaican passport. I've helped several people with passport renewal so I wanted to share this information. Here is a Jamaican passport renewal for a person I assisted with their renewal. These are photos of the new Jamaican passport and old Jamaican passport. You can renew your passport regardless of your status.

To get your passport renewed you will have to follow the following steps below.

There are only 3 cities in the United States you can go to renew your Jamaican Passport. Those three cities are New York City, Miami and Chicago. Here are all the locations/information :

General Consulate of Jamaica in New York City
767 Third Ave, 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10017-2993
Tel : (212)935-9000
Fax : (212)935-7507
Office Hours : Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Website : www.congenjamaica-ny.org

Consulate of Jamaica in Miami
Ingraham Bldg
25 S.E. Second Ave, Miami FL 33131
Tel : (305)374-8431
Fax :(305)577-4970
Website : www.jamaicancgmiami.org

Jamaica Consulate in Chicago
4655 South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
Suite 201
Chicago, Illinois 60653
(773)373-8988
Website : www.jamaicanconsulatechicago.org

If you don't live near to any of those locations you can mail or fax them your application. I wouldn't recommend these methods but if it's your only option then make sure to fill out the application precisely with the exact information needed. Faxing would be your best option if you can't make it to any of the offices but it's best that you try your best to make it in person to avoid any complications because sometimes they can be so picky about how they want the photo. I will explain more about that as I continue to explain the rest of the steps.

1) Before you mail, fax or go to any of the offices MAKE SURE that you prepare the following :
- $110 (price might change but this was the price at the time)
- Expired Passport
- Birth Certificate
- 2 Identical Photographs(Non-colored) which ONE should be NOTARIZED(I will explain more about this.)
These below are NOT necessary to bring if your not married, ever been adopted or divorced.
- Marriage Certificate(if you're married)
- Adoption Register(if you were adopted)
- Divorce Judgement(if you were divorced)

If you were born abroad and NOT in Jamaica in addition to the Birth Certificate these are what you would need :
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Letter of Certificate of of Citizenship
- Certificate of Registration

If you are a MINOR(under 18) it will be harder to renew your passport by yourself so you will need your parents with you plus all the documents I mentioned above.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR PASSPORT PHOTO
The Jamaican Consulates are VERY STRICT on what types of photos they accept.
2) When you go to a photo store or a pharmacy to take photos you will need to make sure that the photographer edits your photo without the SHADOW in the back of your photo. When he takes your photo there will be a DARK SHADOW behind you but you probably won't notice it but this is a VERY BIG ISSUE for the Consulates of Jamaica, if you send or bring in that photo with the shadow un-edited they will reject it and tell you to re-take it. If you have long hair put your hair in a ponytail and if you have bangs comb it back out of your hair. Also if you wear glasses take it off, medicine glasses or any glasses are unaccepted by the Consulates of Jamaica, they would not accept it. The background of the photo should be completely white and your face/head position should be facing forward not leaning or anything like that.

The photo should be similar to these below.

Get Your Passport Photo NOTARIZED for FREE
3) One of the two passport photos MUST be notarized. To get your passport photo notarized you can notarize it at the consulate general but if you want to follow my way which is FREE you can stop by the bank(any bank) and notarize it there. You can also have a school official notarize it if you're still in school but the easiest ways are the bank or at the consulate general however I don't know if they charge a fee, I went to Bank of America across the street from the New York City Consulate of Jamaica and got one of the photos notarized.

Filling Out the Application Form
Perfecting your SIGNATURE ~ Put An Interesting JOB OCCUPATION
4) You can either PRINT THE FORM which is online at there websites or you can receive it when you go into the office. I would recommend printing the form to save time when you go in.
Here is the link to print the form online : http://www.congenjamaica-ny.org/Assets/pdf/JamaicaPassportApplicationForm.pdf

When filling out the passport renewel application form be sure to sign your signatures exactly same when your filling out the signature boxes. There very picky so they will want it to be almost exact. Now for the Job Occupation MAKE SURE to put your job your currently doing or if your not in a job put something interesting. Avoid putting construction worker. I saw a guy lie and put that, he made it up on the spot but is it really awesome to be remembered on your passport a construction worker ? LOL The passport will last 10 years so make it worthwhile.

You Get To Keep Your Old Passport
You will get to keep your old passport so no worries about losing it. They will just copy your old passport then stamp CANCELED all over it but it's easily removable to remove canceled, they will use ink but it's not permanent ink.

HOW TO TRACK YOUR PASSPORT
You will not receive a tracking number so if you would like to track your passsport package you will have to contact the Jamaica Consulate you send it to or use the receipt you receive and track by the reference number on the receipt.
Go to www.fedex.com
Then go to Track by Reference this is the link to the page : https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking
Leave the Account no. space blank and follow the photo I edited, enter whatever mentioned in the photo then click Track.

That's it ! Good luck on your journey to renewing your Jamaican passport ! Have any questions ? Leave it in the comments or email me through the "Contact" page.

I wrote this post on Eric's blog regarding this but wanted to re-write it here on my blog since I helped him receive his passport. You can view his post by clicking HERE but it will be similar to this.

Rihanna's Red Hair is Hot

I'm loving Rihanna's red hair ! My hair is a mixture of brown/black but I would love to have my hair red or maybe I might do red highlights. I love how Rihanna is always changing up her hair to match her mood. When her hair is red that means she's BAD ! Lol....I just made that up I know it sucks. XD

This curly red hair look on her is so cute especially with the outfit. I love curly hair since my hair is naturally curly so whenever I see it on someone else I love it by default.

This braid look is so sophisticated. Love it !

QUESTION : Out of all the Rihanna hairstyles/colors which one do you love best on her ?

How To : Become A Licensed Security Guard in New York City

Would you like to become a Security Guard also known as a "Security Officer" ? Well here are the steps to becoming a Security Guard. These steps apply to most states but since I have a license from New York this would more relate to people in New York regarding the addresses and links provided in this post. If you live in the NYC area you can visit this site for more information : http://www.dos.state.ny.us/

To become a Licensed Security Guard you will have to take the required classes needed to receive the license which are the 8 Hour & 16 Hour security classes. I went to a security school that offered everything so I didn't have to go elsewhere to get fingerprinted and paperwork for my license. I will tell you more about that as I go on. Let's get started.....

1) First you will have to take the 8 Hour Pre-Assignment course which cost $25, it's about 40 minutes then you will take the test to receive your 8 Hour Security Certificate. During this class the teacher will take about different topics regarding how to be a security guard and just basic stuff you need to know then you will receive the test when it's close to the end of the class. The class was quicker than I expected and I passed the test. If you don't pass don't worry you will be able to re-take the test. It's basic questions which require common sense so you won't even most likely fail.

2) Next you will have to take the 16 Hour On The Job(O.J.T.) which is a 2 day class. This class costs $75. Day 1 will consist of over an half hour of talking from the class teacher then Day 2 will consist of more talking then you will take the test to receive your 16 Hour Security Certificate. Again this class is similar to the 8 Hour except it's more graphic and more details regarding topics in the security/criminal justice field. I took the test and passed.

3) Now that I have my 8 Hour & 16 Hour I was ready for the final step which is to apply for my Security License which requires fingerprinting, filling out documents, submitting copies of required documents(including the 8 & 16 Hour Certificates).

I did the fingerprinting at my school and filled out the documents also there but you can find the documents online. Here is the link to print out the required documents : http://www.dos.state.ny.us/forms/licensing/1206-f-l-a.pdf

4) (If your not in the NY area you will have to search online to find out where to send your money orders/checks).
The final step is sending the documents to NYS Department of State with two money orders of $36.00 to NYS Department of State and $105.00 to L1-Enrollment Services. L1-Enrollment Services will be doing a background check with your fingerprints you send in. Both money orders should be placed in an envelope and sent to NYS Department of State but the money orders should be made out to separate departments which I already mentioned.

Extra Tips/Theories
- If you have a criminal history and have a record DO NOT even bother applying to become a Security Guard, most people get denied and end up wasting there money.

- Don't expect to receive your Security Guard License in the mail ASAP, it will take awhile so be patient and you can call them or check on the site for your name by entering your state i.d. or drivers' license #. You can find out how to here : http://appext9.dos.state.ny.us/lcns_public/chk_load

- Save money by printing the require documents online for your security license. Here is the link to print the documents : http://www.dos.state.ny.us/forms/licensing/1206-f-l-a.pdf

- They will use your state i.d. or drivers' license photo for your security license.

- When you first receive your license you won't have to renew it until 2 years later. The fees you pay cover the license fee for 2 years but after that you will have to renew your license every two years for $25 which should be sent to NYS Department of State and you will also have to renew your 8 Hour Certificate every year.

How To : Straighten Curly Hair

Step 1 - Wash and condition hair. Try shampoos and conditioners that moisturize and hydrate. Also deep condition at least once a week. Healthy moisturized hair is humidity' s weakness.

A good deep conditioner is Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Fortifying Deep Conditioner 3 Minute Masque.

Step 2 - Apply a leave in conditioner.
( Leave in conditioner is good for your hair's health by fighting against humidity and slightly weighing your hair down. )

For leave in conditioner you can try Aussie Leave In Conditioner Spray.
To protect your hair you can try KQC's Heat Protectant or Aussie Sydney Smooth Heat Protector.

Step 3 - After that using a widetooth comb or your fingers, begin to blow dry your hair until it is about half way dry.

Step 5 - Now section your hair using hair clips. Create 4 sections. (Two at the front, top half of head and two at the back, bottom half of head.

Your gonna need a brush, a bristle round brush which looks like this.

Step 6 - Using your fingers pull the hair taut and blow dry the roots of each section.
Next pick up the big round brush and proceed to blow dry each section until completely dry.
This works best if you slightly wrap hair around the brush and blow-dry on a lower setting pulling hair away from head, instead of brushing straight down.

Finally after your hair is dry completely, spritz your hair lightly with hair spray
and then brush through it. Now, spritz your brush lightly with hair spray and gently, work your brush from root to tip. This step helps hold hair in place without that cakey, hard effect simply blasting hair spray can leave on hair. For hair sprays you can try KQC's Hair Spray which is also a heat protectant or Tresemme's European Hair Spray, Extra Hold (can be found at drugstores.)

Tips
CONDITIONER IS KEY !

For extra shine to your hair, squeeze a drop of your fav. anti-frizz or shine serum to your hand and rub your hands together. Then lightly and gently run hands through your hair, from root to tip.

Too much of anything is never a good thing. Too much product is going to make your hair look greasy. Too much styling over time will make your hair will look damaged. Give you hair a break a few days a week by wearing a chic bun or braid !

Warning
Remember not to burn your ears or your face while straightening.

You should use protective spray/cream. Make sure the cream is massaged in or else it will make hair greasy, or give it that greasy look.

Make sure your hair is not wet unless you have a wet/dry hair straightener.

Make sure you use hair products in your hair before you straighten your hair so you don't damage it.

Use some heat protecter cream before straightening your hair.

Review | Bruise Relief | Lighten Skin & Dark Circles Remover

Happy New Year !
I just wanted to let you gals/guys in on something I've been using for quite awhile now. I wanted to share with you what I like to use to remove bruises or under eye/dark circles. I received this product for free, a sample of it. I tried it out and loved it ! My mother actually bought it after I recommended it to her. She uses it often !

This product is very soothing to the skin. These are my tips after using it :

- best applied before sleeping at night
- don't leave the product open for long periods of time cause it will leave a permanent bad smell to the product
- if you have a really bad bruise dark spot or really dark under eye circles use a good amount but not too much, it's kinda thick but not terribly thick...it eventually sinks into your skin
- if your gonna use it often on your body then consider buying more than one
- this product worked quickly for me, you should eventually see results in a couple days or more depending on how many different areas your applying it to
- my last tip.....store in a cool temperature area, this product can turn from gel to liquid if your room/bathroom or wherever is too hot, if it turns into liquid it will be of no use again(it will smell bad and be really watery)

OVERALL I would say this is a product worth buying, it has many uses and can be used for people of all ages. It states on the container that it can be used for bruises on the body & face, dark circles/under eyes, post cosmetic procedures and fragile skin of elderly.

So that's all for now, that's my review on Bruise Relief ! It can be found online or at your local drugstore. I would of let you all know where to get free samples but unfortunately there is none left.

How To : Earn Money Online

So I've been using this thing called the internet for so many years now and I've learned many different ways to earn money online. There will be scam sites which will tell you how to make quick, easy money, fast ! But there is no such thing ! It's not easy earning money online, it does get easier once you find out how to and it takes a bit of work especially if your just starting out. Listed below are a couple different ways you can earn money online, my tips may be helpful to you if your interested in earning money online.

Google Adsense
This is one of the best money earners I've seen so far. You can use Google Adsense to earn renevue from many different websites online such as creating a blog, website, becoming a youtube partner and so much more ! Google Adsense offers a wide variety of options to choose from.

Create a WEBSITE or BLOG
Create a website/blog about a topic that interests you. DO NOT create a site to earn money if you don't enjoy writing about the topic. That will just be a waste of time and you will most likely loose interest in writing about a topic that dosen't interest you. Love what your writing about and eventually the money will grow but if you don't love what your writing about chances are not many people will want to read it and get turned away from your site. As your website traffic grows you'll become more elated.
Now Google Adsense does take a percentage of the money you earn through them for the ads so if your interested in other ways to earn money for yourself without sharing, there listed below.

Charge Companies to ADVERTISE
Charge online companies/online businesses to post there ads on your site. The best thing is to find a small business just starting out that needs that extra push, contact them and see if they might want to advertise on your site. Now to advertise you can charge by linking there website with a text link or a banner that they may have from there site. You can charge whatever you like but be reasonable so it can be fair for you and the company. Charging monthly is best or make it long term and give them a 3 or 6 month monthly deal.

Sponsorship for Money and Free Items/Products from Companies
Sponsorship is another great way to earn money/free products. To receive products from companies some may like your site and contact you but if your eager to find one right away then search and see which companies online are offering products for a review in return or some companies may even offer money as another option or if your lucky some companies will give you both money and free products from there website. But beaware of people not liking you anymore for advertising BAD PRODUCTS, beaware of BAD COMPANIES who have bad reviews regarding there products/items or just the company overall. You don't want to be associated with a company who has a bad reputation for there products.

Example : A company is selling a product that says it will make pimples disappear BUT it makes pimples get even bigger and irritate the skin.

That would have your readers/viewers thinking your just in it for the money and/or free products and don't care about anything else. DO NOT do this, research a company before making any agreement with them. If your presented with a contract read it throughly before signing anything.

Sell Online
This is one of the easiest ways to make money online. You can sell anything ! If you have many items you may wanna create a shop/online store for it or a different section on your website/blog. Make sure to state your shipping terms/policies/payments accepted & etc. When selling online respond to customers as much as you can, a satisfied customer is a happy customer and a happy customer may want to shop at your store again. Try your best not to get too many negative reviews, stay in the positive and/or neutral section.

My last tip : Get your own business cards ! When I never had any I had a phone store owner named Fred ask for a business card from me to contact me regarding his service from me to design his website. He gave me his business card and I had none to exchange in return. I felt awkward in a way because I had been planning to get one and never got around to it. I now have business cards now so I don't mind. There very useful for anyone, you can give them out to people randomly sometimes or if someone asks for one.

If you have any tips/other ways to earn money online that you'd like me to add to this post comment below or go to the CONTACT page and fill out the form.

How To : Bake Cookies

So I wanted to do a how to for my fav. cookies which is Trader Joe's !

Step 1 - Get all the essential items you'll need.

Step 2 - Butter the pan with a butter knife. (optional) Butter makes the cookies not stick to the pan.

Step 3 - Open and take a certain amount of cookies out the box.(your choice how many)
Place the cookies on the pan.

It should look like this :

Step 4 - Place the cookies in the oven at 450 degrees for 15-20 or even 25-30 minutes. Keep constantly checking to make sure there not over baked.

Step 5 - Once baked place cookie pan in the sink for the cookies to cool off and your done !

Once cookies cool off time to eat !

Products Used :
Trader Joe's Cookies (Chunky Chocolate Chip Dough)
I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
Hello Kitty Plate
Apple Mitt & Heat Protectant Pad
Pan
Butter Knife

How To : Curl Your Lashes(with a strong hold)

I learned a new trick about curling your lashes. The best way to your lashes to curl and stay curled all day is to curl your lashes then use waterproof mascara. It will hold the curl all day !
Also there are re-fills that come with lash curlers. Make sure to keep getting new re-fills once you see that the old ones are starting to become flakey since it's rubber you'll know. If you don't change it your lashes may rip out since the rubber is so worn.

Day 74

How : To Spot Clean Brushes by Tina..*

This is a video on How To : Spot Clean Brushes

Spot cleaning is good to do every time you use your brushes that way there won't be too much of a dirt build up in it..alcohol is the perfect thing to use to do that since alcohol kills germs.

PRODUCTS USED :
*Alcohol
*Brush Guard(optional)
*Empty Spray Bottle
*Brush(any brush or brushes that you wanna spot clean)

you can purchase brush guards at brushguards.com

BRUSH GUARDS are really useful because it keeps the bristles in place while cleaning and if you wanna store one brush or a couple in your bag the bristles would be kept in good condition if it has a brush guard on it.
