So I've been loving the Japanese culture for so long now and was really interested in being a GYARU. Don't know what a Gyaru is ? Ok here's a quick summary :
Gyaru (ギャル?) is a Japanese transliteration of the English word gal. The name originated from a 1970s brand of jeans called "gals", with the advertising slogan: "I can't live without men", and was applied to fashion- and peer-conscious girls in their teens and early twenties. Its usage peaked in the 1980s and has gradually declined. The term gradually drifted to apply to a younger group, whose seeming lack of interest in work or marriage gained the word a "childish" image. It is now used almost interchangeably with kogyaru.
Gyaru subculture is still a large influence in Japan's fashion economy with Gal brands branching out and becoming more accessible in rural areas. In Tokyo, more often than not, a shopping center at each main train station dedicated to offering the newest and trendiest items from popular Gal brands. Some brands are also reaching overseas by having their items easily accessible in webshops offering world-wide shipping services. Gal Circles (gyaru-sa/ギャルサー) are also a fun part of a gal's life.
A Gal Circle is a group of gals that meet up and hold events promoting gal style, music, and parapara dancing. There are two main types of Gal Circles, Nago-cir (comfort circles) and Ive-cir (event circles).
Gyaru is made up of more than one type of style, here's a himegyaru which basically means " princess".
A Himegyaru has a princessy manner, which is manifested through their clothes, hair, jewelry, accessories etc. I like this, very cute, girly and doll like.

Being a Gyaru is basically standing out so if your not into makeup, dressing up, styling your hair & etc. then this is not for you ! One of my fav. things about being a gyaru is the big hair and style that gyarus have. I love it ! I hate flat straight hair, I use to love my hair straight but I've grown to love my naturally curly hair now. 3 or 4 years ago I started loving my curly hair again.

You DO NOT have to be Japanese to become or be a Gyaru. There are also Gaijin Gyarus which Gaijin means " Foreigner ", there are tons of Gaijin Gyarus.
Here is a Gaijin Gyaru I like watching on youtube. She's based in the UK and has been a Gyaru for quite some time now. ( a larger photo is at the top of this post )
I really love her style ! It's good to see UK Gyarus out there as well as all other countries doing it too including France, USA, Spain and so many more. It's a world-wide thing !
There are many more different types of Gyarus than the ones mentioned in this post.
I love it and will start my journey on becoming a Gyaru ! All the clothing that I have and makeup I will put to more use. I have really creative outfits I've never really worn before that just sit in my closet's hangers and I have tons of lashes and stuff I never really wear. I always think of wearing/doing something then put it off but I am now officially making NO MORE excuses ! Lol. I will start to actually do what I say.
